We have some signed copies of Anthony Burrill's new poster book, 'I Like It. What Is It' now available. Each book has been signed at the back by Anthony and he has included an extra large poster in with each! The books are available at £19.95 and are available on our site or in the gallery.

I Like It. What Is It? is a collection of unique posters featuring catchy typographic slogans by designer Anthony Burrill. Simply pull out the detachable prints and display the bright statements on your wall.
Artfully designed and printed using special colours, these bespoke artworks will brighten up any room or workspace. Burrill's persuasive and upbeat style of graphic communication will appeal to design lovers from all walks of life.

Includes 30 pull-out posters, with details of the stories behind the designs on the back, and a page of witty stickers including 'This Way Down' and 'Sorry, We're Open!'

About the Author 
Anthony Burrill was born in Lancashire and studied Graphic Design at Leeds Polytechnic University. Following an MA at the Royal College of Art, London, he has created pieces for clients including Wallpaper*, The Economist and The Design Museum. His work is held in the permanent collections of the V&A Museum in London and the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum, New York.

Hate Mail by Mr Bingo Book Signing 17th Nov

Next Saturday 17th November between 2-4pm, Mr Bingo will be in Soma for the Bristol signing of his new book, 'Hate Mail'. Come along during this time to meet the genius illustrator and get your books signed. 



In his own words, "Last year I sent a postcard to a stranger called Jonathan Hopkins. It said on it "F*ck you Jonathan, f*ck you and f*ck your sh*t legs". People seemed to be into it so I opened a service on my website, inviting strangers to pay me in return for an offensive postcard addressed to them (or whoever they ordered it for).

"I persevered with the project and now with over 400 'Hate Mails' under my belt, I am pleased to announce that Hate Mail (the book) is out now and available to buy."

It has been rumoured that there could be bottles of 'Hate Ale' at the signing, brewed specially for his London book launch in a brewery.

Books will be available to purchase in Soma from the 17th.

Tatty Devine Workshop & Book Signing

On Saturday 12th November, a lovely sunny day, Rosie and Harriet from Tatty Devine came to Soma to host a jewellery making workshop and book signing.



It was really busy and loads of people came wearing their Tatty Devine jewellery!

Lahloo Tea provided the refreshments and their Earl Grey and Peppermint teas went down a storm. As did the clementine drizzle cake they brought along! We also had some fun cat cakes made by my sister, who is a massive Tatty Devine fan!

Lahloo have recently opened Lahloo Pantry, a cafe and shop just around the corner from us where they sell their beautiful teas as well as very tasty food. They're definitely well worth a visit when you come and visit us!

The workshop was in aid of the new book Tatty Devine have just brought out, 'How to Make Jewellery with Tatty Devine' and the rosette brooch everyone was making is one of the projects. You can buy the book on our website here. Harriet signing a book below.

Amelia's Compendium of Fashion Illustration on Tour at Soma Gallery

We are really pleased to have been invited by Amelia to host one of the Book Tour events here at Soma. Local tea company Lahloo will be providing delicious teas for the event.

Amelia Gregory of Amelia’s Magazine will be visiting Soma Gallery in Bristol as part of the #ACOFI Book Tour on on Thursday 26th May, from 6-10pm.

Please do join us for an informal talk about the creation of Amelia’s Compendium of Fashion Illustration, the rise of eco fashion, illustration process and social media for creatives, followed by an official book signing and chance for fellow creatives to network whilst enjoying complimentary organic juices from Juiceology, fine teas from Lahloo and yummy baked goods. New Lasercut from Rob Ryan

We are very excited about the imminent arrival of this beautiful lasercut from Rob Ryan. It is from an edition of 250 and is signed and numbered by Rob. It is lasercut from blue card and the text reads "Our Adventure is About to Begin". It measures 27 x 37.5 cm and is mounted on white card that is approx 29 x 39.5. It costs £60 plus p&p.

We will only have a small number of these available and as the valentines lasercut sold out before we had even finished the mailout it is advisable to register your interest as soon as possible! We'll be putting the lasercut on our website when it arrives, though please get in touch if you would like to pre-order.
